Before we jump into the tactical items, I want to first encourage you to create a space in your office that is going to allow you to be creative and brainstorm ideas. One of the ways that I do this is to take giant post-it notes and colored markers and I brainstorm ideas onto the notes and create categories for these ideas. Then, I stick these post-it notes onto my wall so I can see the ideas at all times.

Another option that is a bit more environmentally friendly, is to purchase mind mapping software such as MindNode or Mindjet. Programs like these will allow you to map out your thoughts and ideas without having to worry about amassing large amounts of paper products. You can also export these mind maps, send them to your team and share them with colleauges or your business coach.
