Glass
Fibre
- One of the most common Batts used for insulating
- Produced from glass fibre or flexible fibres
- High insulation value
- Very absorbent and degrades when wet
- Fire resistant
- Sound absorption properties
- Contains upwards of 60% recycled glass, depending upon the
manufacturer and the specific facility

Rock/slag
Fibre
- Retains heat and traps air, also allows moisture to escape
- Non combustible and fire resistant
- High water repellency
- Higher insulation value than glass fibre
- Does not degrade
- Sound absorption properties, creates a natural sound
barrier
- Uses a minimum of 70 - 85 % blast furnace slag, with the
remaining volume of raw materials being natural rock
