Polyethylene Sheeting
- Polyethylene sheeting is made from petroleum. Typical names used for the product are: poly sheeting, plastic sheeting, plastic film, polyethylene sheet, poly film, vapour retarder, or just plain poly
- Polyethylene sheeting is installed on the interior of the building and can act as both an air and vapour retarder depending on how/where it is installed
- Use a UV-stabilized product if exposed to sunlight over extended periods
- A thickness of 0.15 mm (6 mil) is more durable on the construction site
- Seams and edges should be supported on both sides to maintain the seal
