A-9.1.1.1. (1) Article 9.25.2.1. specifies that insulation is to
be installed in walls, ceilings and floors which separate heated
space from unheated space. Cottages intended for use only in the
summer and which, therefore, have no space heating appliances,
would not be required to be insulated. Should a heating system be
installed at some later date, insulation should also be installed
at that time. In the case of row units intended for intermittent
winter use, the walls between the dwelling units may at times
separate heated space from unheated space. In this case, the
installation of insulation might be considered.
