9.25.5. Properties and Position of Materials in the Building Envelope

  • 9.25.5.1.(1) Materials are required to be placed in specific positions in an assembly if:
    1. the material
      1. qualifies as an air barrier and
      2. qualifies as a vapour barrier and
    2. The intended use of the interior space will NOT result in high moisture generation.
  • 9.25.5.1.(2) If the interior use WILL result in high moisture generation, the assembly must be engineered.
