Ensure That:

  • The exterior weather barrier is in place and complete
  • Penetrations through the wall are sealed at the weather barrier
  • Studs and plates are free from rot or other damage
  • Left over nails from previous work have been removed from studs
  • Exterior sheathing is free from rot or other damage
  • Any noted structural defects or electrical issues have been corrected
  • Ensure any plumbing located in exterior walls is properly located as close to the interior surface as possible to allow it to be insulated on the cold side to prevent freezing
