Ensure That:

• Roof cover is complete and water tight
• All electrical connections/outlets have vapour retarder, polypan boxes or gasket boxes
• Adequate roof ventilation is in place
• The attic hatch has been installed
• Underside of roof sheathing is free of rot or other signs of water damage
• Verify if ice damming has been as issue; damaged eave troughs and roof top heat cables are indicators of this
