The above photos provide an example of how to properly install vapour retarder and/or air barrier for a corner of a wall system.
1. Wrap polyethylene around the corner by cutting a slice to allow it to spread. This will leave an area open.
2. Use an approved tape or add a second piece of polyethylene to fill in the gap in the polyethylene.
3. Add enough material to close the opening.
4. Seal with acoustical and staple in place to maintain a long term seal.
In the example above, extra acoustical was added with a small piece of poly and then tape to secure it in place until the drywall is installed.
