Early Access Surveying

What it is

Our early access surveying is a combination of Product Habits Early Access Survey, as well as the Research Sprint screening process from GV (see Helpful Links below). The goal is simple: get strangers on the phone!

There is nothing more powerful for your business than when a stranger tells you about their problems. But finding those strangers can be challenging; especially when you have a new idea that requires a lot of customer discovery. The survey is a way of not only defining who you want to talk to, but establishing the relationship with these strangers in a meaningful efficient way.

Reasons and Scenarios to Use it

When you need to talk to a lot of strangers about their problems (good for getting 30-50 people on that phone).

Brand new business, product, or feature. Works best on businesses with B2C type acquisition strategies. Can also work on B2B to the extent it is more focused on SMBs.

How to do it

1. Complete the GV participant screener. This helps us hone in what types of participants we are looking for. Essentially it's setting our "success" criteria of the survey responses.

2. Write the questionnaire. Reference the Product Habits post to understand the sections of the survey.

3. Post and email out the questionnaire. This is when your blasting skills come in handy - get the survey in front of as many people as possible.

4. READ ALL REPLIES. We can't stress this enough.

Time required

2-4 hours to prepare questions and distribute.
