Who Is LaunchPad Lab?

LaunchPad Lab is a digital product studio located in the great city of Chicago. We are a team of designers, developers, product managers, dot-connectors, business-builders, and high-five connoisseurs.

In the past 6 years we have worked with over 120 clients on over a 160 projects. Our range of previous and active clients is wide. From B2C mobile app startups to enterprise internal business applications. In industries ranging across healthcare, financial services, and non-profits.

We began as a traditional development and design agency building marketing sites. But as our business grew, we discovered that LaunchPad Lab was at it's best when we weren't just helping clients build products, we were helping clients build the right product. Given that most LaunchPad Lab employees are "career-switchers," we found ourselves naturally drawing from our previous industry knowledge and experiences to offer advice to our clients. This combination of business, market, and product knowledge, coupled with our ability to execute and build highly-scalable, enterprise-level software has made us a unique partner.

Lean Product Discovery Workshop

The result of this balance has materialized in our Lean Product Discovery Workshop. A 4-6 week process that maximizes our clients chances at building successful product-focused businesses.

We view successful product companies as standing on a tripod. The legs of which are; 1. A sound business model. 2. A clear market opportunity. 3. A world-class product. As a practice, we look to work with entrepreneurs who have an understanding of their market and business model. The Lean Product Discovery Workshop is used to define and design that product leg.

As a result, we have focused our workshop on a few key services and challenges and have strategical neglected some other challenges.

Services we are more about

Here are the services and business challenges in our sweet spot for Lean Product Discovery:

  • Customer discovery interviews
  • Product definition and estimation
  • Prototyping
  • User testing
  • User interface design
  • Development requirements gathering
  • Process automation
  • Product turn-arounds

Services we are less about

Here are the considerations that, while we can assist in thinking through, are not in our wheelhouse for Lean Product Discovery:

  • Market research and segmentation
  • Financial modeling
  • Competitive analysis
  • Launch marketing strategy
