Tips 16-20

16. Memorize Free Parking Spaces

Found a free parking space in your neighborhood? Make a mental note of it, and keep it in mind for the next time you're out and about in your car. Parking in New York can be incredibly expensive, so those valuable freebies are well worth remembering!

17. Look After Your Sexual Health

When you're a student, it's the perfect time for exploring your sexuality and having plenty of fun in the process. However, it's also a time when STI's can spread rapidly among groups of people, so make sure you're always practising safe sex. If your potential partner isn't interested in cooperating in this way, it's time to show them the door! Your health is worth far more than a fumbled hookup with someone who doesn't care about their own.

18. Check Out All The Free Museums

If you're looking to take in some culture while out in the city, but want to save your money while you do so, why not spend some time in one of New York's many free museums? There are many amazing museums in NYC which have a 'suggested donation' on the door (and these include world-class galleries like the Guggenheim and the Met), and others also have regular 'free days' where the entrance fee is waived. For example, the MoMA is completely free of charge every Friday between 4-8pm… and if that isn't a great deal, we don't know what is!

19. Go Shopping With Your Best Friend

If you and your bestie have the same taste in clothes, why not go shopping together with the idea that whatever you end up buying, you promise to share with each other? This is a top hack for saving cash, and ending up with even more great outfits!

20. Enjoy Every Minute

Being a student in New York is something which millions of young people around the world dream of, and here you are, living that very dream. As such, it's really important that use this time of your life to truly discover yourself, and explore everything it has to offer. Sign up to societies and clubs, attend extra lectures to boost your knowledge, take in the sights, wander around museums, meet amazing people… it's going to be the time of your life, so live it like you mean it!
