This is the capital city of the state of Amazonas, located in the northwestern part of Brazil. The city has a population of nearly two million. The reason why I chose this place to be my next travel destinations is the fact that Manaus has a rich history, which began with the discovery of the Spanish of the mouth of the Amazon river.

Manaus is home to the beautiful opera house, called Amazon Theatre. The theatre was opened to the public in 1896 and it houses the famous annual Amazonas Opera Festival.
