Bogotá, Colombia

I am not yet quite sure how am I to get to Bogotá but the options here are by flight, buses, or even boat. All three types of transportation are frequent, so I do not think I will find it difficult to reach my next destination - Bogotá. The Colombian capital has a population of over 8 million people and once was home of indigenous tribes whose petroglyphs were found at the El Abra archaeological site.

Since I had not yet been on a "food trip", I intend to embark on one while I stay at Bogotá. There are several companies in the capital which offer the so-called food trips, and I found the Bogota Foodie Food Safari Tours to satisfy all of my needs.

After the food trip, I will visit the mountains towering the capital - the Monserrate Mountain. Lifts are frequent here so I will not need to hike for a few hours to reach the top of the over 3000-metre-high mountain. It it known that in the past the mountain served as a pilgrim destination and apart from offering a unique view over the capital, the mountain is also famous for the statue of The Fallen Saint, or 'El Señor Caido'.
