Question Answer
Where can we find the status of full PRC if we are
PRC in progress
You can reach out to qualityinstalls@fortisbc.com to get a status on your PRC membership or simply log in to registeredbccontractor.ca and scroll down to the Site Visit stage to see how many site visits you have passed. You need to pass three site visits.
Wondering if even after all the mandatory training is complete whether there are point people there within the PRC/HPCN who are readily available to address specific questions that come up with regard to - in our case - the insulation remediation process? If you are a PRC there is a "Business Account Representative" (BAR) listed on your profile who you can connect with directly if you have questions about any remediation (or any other questions that may come up). Similarly, HPCN will have a contact for any membership questions.
Can you not just automatically transfer a PRC contractor to become an HPCN? What's with all the registration process when we're already doing it and you have all the info? 31:45 in the video above
Sorry if I missed this; do ALL employees need to take the 39 hour course? 33:27 in the video above
If we complete modules before Dec 31, 2021 then it is free? how much is it after? 34:55 in the video above
If all 9 modules completed with the PRC would you have to complete the Home retrofit for HPCN. If so why. 36:05 in the video above
Is there any possibility that our employees have already completed the required training? 37:37 in the video above
As far as the PRC site visits go are they automatically done when the home owner applies for the rebate or am I as the contractor suppose to ask for a site visit to happen 39:58 in the video above
Are there going to be specifically designed courses for spray foam contractors 41:02 in the video above
Is there any where available to just challenge the entire course instead of taking the entire course? I've been in Insulation for over 25 years and just started with a smaller company that wasn't an existing PRC 42:08 in the video above
I am remote based, and a very small business. Also I just strictly insulate attics. Do I need all the training just to do attic insulation?I may just do 5 retrofits a year. 44:16 in the video above
Are the energy advisors HPCN members taking the same training that we are or is there different which could lead to a lack of synergy between the two groups?

Follow-up: I understand that - I'm sorry I wasn't more specific. I want to ensure that the energy Advisors training aligns with what we are training our crew members. If they are not the same, we are setting ourselves up for failure between the two groups.

Will rebates include post abatement insulation including spray foam and blow in. Contact qualityinstalls@fortisbc.com for more information.
Will the training cost $750 per employee? If I pay $750 for an employee to do training and then one month later he quits. Does he keep his certification or does the company? 50:22 in the video above
Do any of the courses in house systems training needed for the New Home Warranty qualify for these training modules? They seem redundant...

Follow-up: Could we request you investigate this training I referred to, the training was for house systems not specific to new homes; the basics training started at 18 hours for part 9 regulations

54:28 in the video above
Yes, I was also wondering about rebates for insulation removal. This is often necessary for home owners with rat infestations, mould etc. and often costs as much as the install, so if homeowners could obtain some financial relief to cover this cost, we see this being very beneficial. Contact qualityinstalls@fortisbc.com for more information.
Is there retro active pay for those that have taken all the PRC training. 57:12 in the video above
I took a "house as a system" course as part of my spray foam training. Do I still need to take that course again? The HPCN house as a system course is a mandatory course for all HPCN members. it takes 3.5 hours to take the training.
