Choosing The Right Delivery

There are so many promotional tools available for you to use.

As a marketeer you must select the right tool to allow you to get the desired message to the target market. For example, if you are selling funeral plans to the over 70s CDE market, an e-mail direct mailer is probably not a great idea. Then again, if you wanted to reach out to a young 16 to 30s audience, an email mailer is a great idea. You could even tie the mailer into an innovative social media campaign that would also harness the marketing power of the younger audience.

There are more promotional tools than we have fingers and toes, so don't jump at the first offer you receive via a cold sales call, really think about what you need, when you need it, and at what cost.

Remember, whatever media you choose to use, excellent copy is a must. There are plenty of great PR companies and freelancers who can turn your thoughts into great eye-catching copy; and time and money invested in this will reap huge dividends for your campaign.

Sponsorship and endorsements can be expensive but they can also be highly effective - especially for reinforcing a recent purchase or putting out new sales messages. Essential to success is to pick the right event, sport, and or personality. Remember, that any endorsements you make, is a direct reflection of your company and all that it stands for. And finally, don't forget to get a contract in place if you are sponsoring or endorsing a person. All too often these are forgotten and this can end in disaster!
