During the dialogue leading up to basecamp and thanks to the discussions at basecamp:London itself, I hope participants will be able to:
- Notice what we notice when it comes to diversity (probably gender, skin colour, accent), and begin to look for differences beyond those we've been conditioned to look for.
- Question, in our own interactions, whether we accept into our circle those who are outwardly different from us only when they try to be the same.
- Make a conscious effort to learn FROM diversity not just ABOUT diversity. i.e ask what in the behaviour and values of those who are "not like me" benefits society and the environment as a whole and how can I be more like that?
- Expand their viewpoints around D&I and enjoy opportunities for cross-pollination and inspiration across the other table themes, because D&I cuts across all themes.
- Leave our dialogue feeling more empowered, and/or have a renewed sense of purpose around the role they, or others in their networks might play around moving beyond D&I to E&S.
