Purpose

The purpose of this Challenge Paper is to start an online dialogue around "Re-thinking People's Relationship to Computers". This dialogue will lead us to basecamp:London on November 3 & 4, 2019.

This paper creates a space for you to react and provide feedback, to identify what you agree and disagree with, and to add your input. When we gather at basecamp:London, we can then explore these reactions together, and identify ideas, opportunities, coalitions and "expeditions" to carry the insights from our conversation into the world.

The co-champions of this paper are Dr Robert Elliott Smith PhD FRSA, author focused on complex-systems-based artificial intelligence, founding member of The UCL Centre for The Study of Decision-Making Uncertainty, and Quinn Underwood, a serial entrepreneur and co-founder of four separate organizations: three tech companies and one non-profit.
