This Guide has been developed by EnviroCentre and is based on the core competencies distributed by Natural Resources Canada, not actual exam questions.

This is only meant as an orientation to the Foundation Level Exam and as a guide for study. It is not exhaustive in the answers to all core competencies.

This module of the Foundation Level exam focuses on the following core competencies:

1. Unit 3. Construction and Renovation of Low-Rise Housing
2. Unit 4. Safety Considerations

This course is designed to review some of the key concepts under each of these categories and should be supplemented with further in-depth study.
