Step 1 : Tools & Supplies

Having all the tools and supplies in one place and within easy reach is half the battle for any repair project.

Flange Wrench: This is the most important tool since it was designed for the specific purpose of loosening and tightening a drain flange.

Plumbers Putty: The is placed on the underside of the drain flange and provides a flexible, watertight seal from the drain flange to the tub drain

Rubber Gasket: The is placed on the underside of the pipe flange and provides a flexible and watertight seal from the pipe flange to the tub drain hole

Rust Preventer: This bathtub is steel with an enamel coating. If the coating is chipped or scratched the metal will rust and show and orange color

Latex gloves: When handling chemicals and working with sewer contaminants I always use latex gloves to protect my hands and stop spreading germs

Blue Painters Tape- Brown Kraft Bag : The tape and paper are to be used to protect the finish of the tub beyond the drain hole.

Soft scouring pad: To clean the tub flange from any old plumbers' putty and rust
