Value for Membership

The Association at every level defines the HBA as the "Voice of Canadian Residential Construction". For small local, this is difficult.

Some larger HBA's have revenue streams like

  • pay-for-use education and training,
  • annual 'Parade of Homes'
  • gold tournaments
  • awards events and conferences

If possible, I would like to incorporate revenue generation in our membership, but not at the expense of our members' free time and added monetary input.

The background work I hope to perform is as such:

  • New growth strategies - promotional, membership drive(s), communication with support sectors and local bodies.
  • Define our image better in the community and foster cooperative communication.
  • Define the VALUE FOR MEMBERSHIP that we get from being a part of an HBA - this will be a big one. When we've got it, I intend to exploit it to the maximum possible.
  • Ultimately, drive more business to our members.
