The Association at every level defines the HBA as the "Voice of Canadian Residential Construction". For small local, this is difficult.
Some larger HBA's have revenue streams like
- pay-for-use education and training,
- annual 'Parade of Homes'
- gold tournaments
- awards events and conferences
If possible, I would like to incorporate revenue generation in our membership, but not at the expense of our members' free time and added monetary input.
The background work I hope to perform is as such:
- New growth strategies - promotional, membership drive(s), communication with support sectors and local bodies.
- Define our image better in the community and foster cooperative communication.
- Define the VALUE FOR MEMBERSHIP that we get from being a part of an HBA - this will be a big one. When we've got it, I intend to exploit it to the maximum possible.
- Ultimately, drive more business to our members.
