Go For Pockets, Not Camo

Pants. You'll need pants. Not shorts, not leggings, jeggings, or capris. Pants.

Why? Because pants cover your legs. And coverage means protection. Protection from the sun, cold, scrapes, and zombie bites.

You might think that the old standard, blue jeans, would be the choice for post-apocalyptic wear. It's actually a really poor choice. Denim is heavy, hot to wear in warm weather and not that great in cold weather. It will retain sweat, rain, and other moisture and then it will SHRINK. It's rugged, but it's not what you want, especially if you have to haul around a heavy 2nd pair.

Plus, what you need beyond protection is pockets. Your standard pair of Levis has a few pockets, but they're basically useless. You need POCKETS .

And that means that come the zombie apocalypse the height of fashion will be cargo pants.

I recommend finding yourself a roomy pair of cargo pants made out of cotton or rip-stop nylon. They'll be light, tough, and if you get them roomy enough you can wear a pair of flannel undies or insulated underwear beneath them when the weather turns cold. And those numerous, big pockets are perfect for your next "shopping" expedition.

As for camouflage, skip it. The zombies are more likely to hunt you by smell or sound than by sight. Dying is hell on the eyes.
