Getting links from link directories

The first and most common way to acquire backlinks is using the Link directory. There are many directories that accept web site submissions, among which are Yahoo! Directory, DMOZ, BOTW and others. All of these directories have target keywords that you should optimize your web site for. These are single words or phrases that describe your web site's content. For example, if your web site is about video games, your keywords should be "games", "video game" and so on. To optimize your web site for any specific keyword, you need to use that word in your HTML title, page heading (H1), body copy (text) and also in the URL of the page. In addition to optimizing your web sites for specific keywords, you should submit your web sites to all of the directories. The reason for this is because when a search engine crawls the Internet, it may find one of your pages in only one category of the directory. If you submit your page to more than one category, there is a greater chance that the search engine will find it and index it. You can submit your web pages to any or all of the categories of the directory. Just make sure that you do not duplicate your page across multiple directories.
