Landing Page/Signup/Survey

Once you complete the Power of 100 exercises, its time to get up a pre-launch web page, sometimes also called a splash page, landing page. The goal of the pre-launch web page is to:

a) inform clients and suppliers about your upcoming service

b) collect email addresses so you can "build a list" of buyers

c) facilitate the viral spreading of your travel companies service via the social networks, "word of mouth marketing."

d) survey travel buyers and suppliers to further validate your business model and ideas.


Email list building

For every person that opt's in on your web page (submits their email address) you want that person to refer at least one other person so you can collect a 2nd email address.


Pre-Launch web page content

Content (text, images, video) that promotes and sells your upcoming service to your core target buyer.


Incentives

Prizes, sweepstakes, contests, gaming, rewards, BETA exclusivity version (example: 1st 100 people) can sweeten the pot for people to opt-in and submit their email address. This is not a necessity but it will majorly increase your conversions and build a larger list. Regarding the giveaway or what you can offer think about any personal, family or friends resources you have right now that you could use that will not cost you any money upfront.

Example: One of my clients is currently running a Facebook sweepstakes to collect email addresses. He is giving away a Maine weekend getaway. He owns a sailboat. He is giving away a 3 hour ocean cruise in Maine on his sailboat along with 1 night of lodging that he is buying for $75 from a local B&B. Total cost is $75 and his time.


The One-Two Punch Strategy

Enter to win a prize by submitting your email address and 1 other friend. Entries of 2 or more friends will automatically be entered to win a second prize. If one of your friends wins, you win as well, so the more friends you enter the more chances you have at winning as well. Yippeeeeee!


Email List Opt-in Personal/Privacy Statement

"We will never sell or share your personal information with a 3rd party including your name and email addresses, without your express permission. If you submit your email address, we will only use it for the purpose you expressly agreed to here and to alert you about our travel companies products and services."

Referral Tactics - social media icons

Facebook Icon w/text- "Hey I just signed up with this cool travel website. Check it out and if you register you'll have a chance to win a prize."

Twitter Icon w/text- "Cool new website for people that travel, thought you might find it interesting."

Your friends, Your Network- email your list, tell them what you've been up to, ask then to register and to refer their friends.
