You can get traffic to your website via Google Adwords but this is a very expensive proposition especially if you are bidding on keywords that are "highly competitive." I've got a great strategy I use to drive cheap traffic to travel websites by bidding on the "long-tail" keywords that are relevant to the travel products you are selling but that are the least competitive. Please watch the two Google Adwords videos "Getting Cheap Google Traffic."
Run only Geo-Targeted Ads - Watch my Geo-Targeted Google Adwords strategy video to see how you can run highly targeted ads to only a specific area, region or city within the U.S. or world. I use this strategy when I am advertising my main keywords. It helps keep my costs down and gets the ads highly targeted.

I really like advertising on Facebook because it's cheaper than Google and Yahoo and I can highly target my ad to my niche target buyer.

Pricing Strategy - Always, always start your advertising bid amount at $0.30 per click. Do not bid at the recommended rates.
Ad quantity - I always recommend that you run at least 5 ads in the campaign. 1-2 will pull all the click-thrus, so then what you do is delete the others that don't get clicks.
Click Thru Rate- A successful ad is any ad that receives higher than .02%. This is what you are looking for.
Ads stop running - If you ads stop running even though they were previously receiving click-thrus, try changing the images ads first, then the test ad copy second. Facebook is not penalizing you they just don't want the same ad displaying to the same people. You may also need to raise the CPC bid rate to increase the clicks. Try upping your bids by only a few cents. Sometimes raising the bid price by only $0.03-$0.05 can have a positive effect and increase clicks and maintain the ad running every day.
To successfully run a Facebook ad campaign you have to constantly monitor the activity. This is not a set it and forget it system.
