Dispelling Myths

There are so many myths associated with hiring people with disabilities. You name it, it's probably been said. But here are three major ones that need to be addressed head on:

  1. Workers with disabilities are more likely to have accidents or hurt themselves on the job
  2. Employees with disabilities will under-perform their colleagues who do not have disabilities and will become a drain on resources by requiring added supervision or special allowances
  3. The costs associated with hiring people with disabilities are too high for most businesses to absorb

This section of the guide will address each of those myths separately.
