Text Neck Syndrome, also known as "tech neck," is a condition characterized by the strain and pain experienced in the neck and upper back due to prolonged and repetitive use of electronic devices, particularly smartphones. The term "text neck" originated from the common habit of hunching over phones to read or type messages, causing the head to tilt forward and increasing stress on the neck muscles and spine.
In the age of constant connectivity, individuals of all ages are susceptible to developing text neck. Adolescents and young adults, who are avid users of mobile devices, are especially prone to this condition. As smartphones have become integral to our daily routines, from work-related tasks to social interactions, the hours spent with our heads tilted forward have dramatically increased.
