Building on online presence is a must. All businesses that want to succeed have a website. But we don't want to stop here. We must use all the opportunities to grow our audience and to reach our targets. In order to do that, we must leverage the inescapable social media landscape.

First, focus on your website. It must be mobile friendly (as mentioned before), and must be enjoyable to navigate through. But most of all it must be lightning fast, on both mobile and desktop. Otherwise your audience will leave your website right away. 47% of consumers expect a web page to load in 2 seconds or less , and 40% of people abandon a website that takes more than 3 seconds to load.

Once you have got that sorted out, you need to optimize your website for search engines. SEO revolves around content and keywords, as well other metrics such as time on page, visits, social shares and much more.

About that last point, social share make you rank higher in search engines. But in order to get shared, you first need to be on social media. There are many social media out there, and there is no need to be on every one of them. Rather, select a few social networks where it makes sense for you to be on, and where your target is.
