So you've got your site up, you have a product you're looking to sell, and now you just need some people to buy it. Sound right?
You then shared the site on Facebook, Tweeted to all of your followers and even emailed your buddies. You have approximately 30 page views and $0 in sales.
Why?
What you did was not bad. It cost nothing, and only took a few minutes. But, you weren't targeting the right people. Your friends and followers are diverse groups. Your product will only appeal to a targeted group of people. Now all you need is to find these people, but where?
Meetup.com, for starters.
Meetup.com allows for people to setup groups in areas around specific topics, ranging from knitting, cooking, hot sauce and even growth hacking.
Find the groups that most closely resemble your target audience. Reach out to the organizer and incentivize him/her to share something with their audience. Give them a free trial, a coupon code, free shipping, whatever it is you need to do that will entice these people to go to your site.
Also worth noting, try making your incentives expire after 2 days or a week. This will likely improve your conversions. In other words, it'll put more money in your bank account :)
Now, you have a targeted audience that has an incentive for checking out your site, and they have to act quickly if they like what they see.
