Be Social

Everyone talks about the need to "engage" social media followers and fans, but what does this mean? It means social monitoring (who is in your overall network), looking at your social analytics (who are you actually resonating with?), and positioning your content so that it's easy for new people to discover you. Naturally, your social channels are excellent platforms to distribute the content (blog posts, use cases, case studies, new feature announcements, etc.) you're using to drive traffic to your site, but it's important to think outside the box on this. The first step is identifying where your target audiences "hang out" online. Start conversations there, and make sure that you're not wasting your breath.
