Your photos are one of the most important elements of your
wedding, because they'll be the only thing that preserves the day
(besides the video, of course). So, you want to meet with your
photographer to get the collection of memories you want. And
behold, the helpful hints:
For You
Meet with your photographer beforehand. Work out the details and
know what to expect on your big day; how will the photographer
handle all the groups of people?
Does she already have poses in mind or is she open to
suggestions?
- Will you have everything planned out or play it by ear based on
how much time you have?
- Does the photographer need to scope out the location(s) ahead
of time?
- Who will be in pictures? Any extended family?
- If you want pictures with family, it can be difficult to take
any before the ceremony, so to speed up the process, communicate
with anyone you want in the picture and let them know they need to
stick around after the ceremony, and also tell them where they need
to wait for pictures.
- Will you take any pictures beforehand?
- Will all the pictures be taken at one location or are there
other places you'd like to capture memories?
- Who will transport the wedding party if there are various
locations?
- If your photographer is a seasoned professional, she'll already
know to ask you these questions, but give it some thought before
you meet.
