Pre-Event Set-Up Checklist

The best way to approach planning is with a detailed pre-event checklist. The tasks below outline crucial elements of the planning process such as budgeting, sourcing equipment, advertising, and everything in between which needs to happen well in advance of the date of your event.

As time is one of the most valuable, and often overlooked, resources in planning events, start well in advance so you have a better chance of securing your first choice of date, venue, host/speakers, etc. It will also provide you with more flexibility to deal with unforeseen changes or developments along the way.

In terms of how far in advance of your event date you should start planning is a matter of preference, however for large scale events, six to nine months is a good starting point.
