So what's a .REALTOR domain, and what's the big deal?
In the past, ICANN has given us top-level domains (TLDs) like .com, .org, .net and all the country specific ones like .ca. To further organize the internet, ICANN is releasing more than a 1,000 TLDs within the next few years such as.clothes, .books, .apartments and so on.
The National Association of REALTORS® (CREA's equivalent in the U.S.) has secured the .REALTOR domain and through its partnership with CREA, is making the .REALTOR domain exclusively available for purchase to all members of both associations.
The .REALTOR domain is uniquely created for REALTOR® members to help identify you as the trusted source of real estate information, resources and services online. You also know the value of being recognized as a REALTOR® member by prospects and clients, showing that you adhere to the REALTOR® code of ethics and professional conduct.
As a result, one of the primary benefits of the .REALTOR domain is the ability to clearly show your status as a REALTOR® member prominently in your website address.
Visit about.realtor to get all the details and instructions on how to claim a .REALTOR domain.
