The challenges we face are complex, urgent, and interconnected.
- Our current competitive, winner-takes-all approach of problem solving isn't working:
- Our "solutions" are short-sighted (at best), serve special interests, don't address root causes, and create unanticipated secondary (and tertiary) challenges
- People are feeling excluded, frightened, hopeless and helpless. We've lost trust in our institutions, our "leaders", our media, our markets… and each other.
- The tools and processes we're using to connect and "work together" are reinforcing behaviour and compounding the problem. Facebook is shaping our input and how we think; Twitter is shaping how we interact; and Apple is shaping our attention.
If we don't change the way we work, we'll continue to get the same outcomes.
