Guides.co started as a way for entrepreneurs to share their "blueprints" with other founders. Similar to Github for developers, it was a place where anyone could capture their "how to" knowledge, share it with the startup community, and update based on feedback and as the environment evolved.
Guides expanded beyond startups to other sectors including lifestyle, fire sciences, energy efficiency, and mental health. Soon organizations (including academia and governments) were using Guides to publish everything from internal processes to educational material, from by-laws to national policy.
The application has grown into a unique ecosystem platform for connecting and sharing information with multiple stakeholders, effectively bridging traditional barriers and coordinating complex industries and sectors. We like to say that Guides is activating the "space between" organizations and people where new ways of living and working emerge.
To really activate these spaces, we've learned that three things are required: a common purpose that complements individual and group purposes; self-organizing common spaces; and a commitment to evolving common knowledge.
Enabling these spaces is guiding our journey.
