Surface meteorological data at the project site should be generated for three seasons: winter, summer and post-monsoon. The representative months of these seasons include:

- Winter: December, January and February

- Summer: May

- Post-monsoon: October

The meteorological data requirements can be divided into two parts:

1. Essential

a. On-site Wind speed and direction (continuous)

b. Ambient Temperature (continuous)

c. On-site Cloud Cover (synoptic measurement at least four times in 24 hours at regular intervals)

d. Solar insolation (measurement/estimation) and

e. Atmospheric pressure (daily mean)

2. Desirable

a. Humidity (daily mean)

b. Vertical temperature profile (continuous)

c. Monthly precipitation (on daily basis)

d. Number of rainy days (rainfall > 2.5mm)
