5. Aim The Tree

When your tree starts to tumble, you will no longer be able to control it. So, you have to make a plan and determine which way you want it to fall before you start the first cut. Remember that the tree will fall in the direction of any natural lean. Measure your tree and your yard, and make certain there will be enough space for the whole tree to safely hit the ground. Remove all moveable obstacles such as outdoor furnishings, vehicles, and equipment. Keep in mind that trees are a lot taller and bigger than they appear from underneath. Additionally, the trees landing spot should be fairly level to prevent it from bouncing or rolling down.
