Install RDS

Before you install View Agent on Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 as RDSH Role, you need to add RDS to the server.

1. Open Server Manager from Start > Administrative Tools > Server Manager. Navigate to Server Manager > Roles. Select Add Roles in the right pane.

2. The Add Roles Wizard window appears. Click Next.

3. The Select Server Roles window appears. Select Remote Desktop Services and click Next.

4. The Remote Desktop Services window appears. Click Next.

5. The Select Role Services in Install RDS window appears. Select Remote Desktop Session Host and Remote Desktop Connection Broker. Click Next.

6. The Uninstall and Reinstall Applications for Compatibility window appears. Click Next.

7. The Specify Authentication Method for Remote Desktop Session Host window appears. Select the Authentication Level according to your situation. Click Next.

8. The Specify Licensing Mode window appears. Specify the licensing mode. Click Next.

9. The Select User Groups Allowed Access To This RD Session Host Server window appears. Add your Users or User Groups. Click Next

10. The Configure Client Experience window appears. Configure the Client Experience according to your situation. Click Next.

11. The Confirm Installation Selections window appears. Confirm your selections. If something is incorrect, click Previous to return to the previous steps and change the settings. Click Install.

12. The Installation Progress window appears. The installation takes a few minutes to finish.

13. The Installation Results window appears, and asks for restart. Click Close.

14. The Add Roles Wizard window appears, asking for confirmation for restart. Click Yes to restart the server.

15. When the server comes back, Log In again and the Resuming Configuration window appears. It takes a few seconds to resume configuration.

16. The Installation Results window appears. Click Close to complete the installation.

17. The Server Manager window appears. Confirm installed Roles as RDS.
