Prerequisites and System Requirements

• VMware vCenter environment
  • -8 vCPUs minimum
  • -14GB minimum RAM
  • -412GB minimum free disk space on datastore
  • -vCenter 5.0 or higher
  • -Active Directory (AD) infrastructure configured (with or without forest)
  • -SMTP server configured inside infrastructure
  • -(Optional) VMware ThinApp repository configured
  • -(Optional) VMware Horizon View 5.2 or higher infrastructure configured
• DNS configuration
  • -Add DNS A-records, IP addresses, and reverse lookup records for each virtual appliance
    Note: Make sure reverse PTR is created.

• Administrator user configuration
  (Note: This configuration will be used as a binding user.)
  • -Create an administrator user in AD (horizonadmin)
    • Enter First name and Last name
    • Enter Display Name
    • Enter Email
    • Check Password never expires
• Configure vCenter DC IP Pool
  • -Set DNS Domain the same as the AD Domain
  • -Set IPv4 DNS Servers as the AD Server IP Address
  • -Enter the same Subnet, Gateway, and Ranges values as used for the AD infrastructure
  • -Create a pool to constrain resources for Horizon Workspace
  • Note: The pool must meet the requirements above.
  • -CHECKPOINT: Validate that DCHP/IPv6 are not enabled on the network where you will install Horizon Workspace
