We have a world of information at our fingertips. With over 82% of the market, every second Google processes around 80,000 search requests. This is people actively trying to find information stored somewhere on the internet.

Historically, 80% of google searches were "informational" - people looking for "how to" content or doing "research" (rather than transactional, or navigational). In fact, according to Google, "How-to videos earn the most attention of any content category on YouTube, even more than music clips or gaming".

This isn't limited to search at home, we use search as a primary interface for much of our business life as well. But how successful are we in finding the knowledge we need?
