Purpose of this Paper

Here we are, in the midst of the latest major crisis.

This moment is a rare pause. We should seize it to do some reflection, to develop a deeper awareness of self and society.

Many daily habits of self and society have been suspended. And as the busyness that usually fills our days fades away, this seems like the perfect opportunity - maybe the only opportunity like this we'll ever get - to ask ourselves, and one another:

What has been missing?

The purpose of this Reflection Paper is to help you to reflect on that question. The hope is that you will,

  • Reflect on this Paper yourself,
  • Feel moved to share it with a few (or several) other people and reflect on it together. (perhaps by video chat)
  • Gather and share the insights you arrive at.

Some questions that might help you organize your insights (if that's how you like to do things) are:

  • What other examples do you see of the general problem that this Paper identifies?
  • Do you agree with the need to save and restore social habitat? Can you add to the argument?
  • Can you build upon these plans and ideas for how to help that habitat to flourish?
  • What unanswered questions does this Paper raise, that you want to find answers to?

And one final question for reflection: Do you want to come play?
