There's a wide variety of insulation materials used in construction today and a contractor using those products needs to know how to safely handle them and how to install them properly.

Insulation contractors may have experience or training with the following materials and tools:

• Construction safety PPE including gloves, hardhats and breathing apparatus;
• Mineral wool and fibreglass batts and loose fill insulation;
• Rigid and semi rigid insulation board;
• Open and closed cell expanding foam insulations and their applicator tools;
• Blower machines and hoppers for installing loose fill;
• Measuring and cutting tools, such as batt knives and table saws;
• Ladders and scaffolding.
