Introduction

The Pacific Nortwest (PNW), sometimes referred to as Cascadia, is a geographic region in western North America bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west and (loosely) by the Rocky Mountains on the east. To spur innovation within the PNW, the Governor of Washington and Premier of BC last year entered into an MOU on spurring innovation within the region. The term Cascadia Innovation Corridor is used to denote the area encompassing Vancouver, Seattle and Portland (along the I-5 highway corridor) where there are opportunities for increased collaboration in science, technology, and innovation.
