NRC IRAP YEP - Youth Employment Strategy Programs

About NRC IRAP YEP

The Youth Employment Strategy Programs provide SMEs with financial assistance to hire skilled post-secondary graduates in the following fields: science; engineering; technology; business; and liberal arts.

Graduates work on innovative projects, including research, development and commercialization of technologies.

The SME benefits from the extra knowledge and the graduates gain valuable work experience that will open doors to the future.

Internships are 6 - 12 months and can be located anywhere in Canada.

YEP shares a portion of the salary costs of the post-secondary graduate. SMEs are responsible for other expenses such as fringe benefits and overhead costs.

Funding Dispersed?

Approximately 2,400 graduates received a YEP internship worth $15K - $30K on average, between 2006-07 and 2010-11.
