Grant
- The Engage grant gives companies access to knowledge and
expertise available at Canadian universities.
- The program enables a new research project between an academic
researcher and a company that have never collaborated before.
- Engage Grants are aimed at addressing a company-specific
problem in the natural sciences or engineering fields.
Funding Amount?
- Up to $25K for up to six months
- Funding is awarded to the academic researcher to cover the
direct research project costs
Who's Eligible?
- Academic researcher and a Canadian-based company that have
never collaborated before
- Startups may be considered, provided that they have been in
operation for a minimum of 12 months.
- Applicants will normally be limited to two new Engage Grants
awarded in each fiscal year.
How to Apply?
Proposals can be submitted at any time and include::
- Application for a Grant form (Form 101)
- Information Required from Organizations Participating in
Research Partnerships Programs form (Form 183A)
- Personal Data Form (Form 100)
- Letter of Support from Company
Can Companies Also Claim SR&ED?
Yes, the company can also claim their portion of the expenses
towards a SR&ED-eligible project.
