Business Innovation Access Program (BIAP)

  • BIAP is a pilot program that will provide $20M in funding over 2 years to help SME's access business services or technical assistance at Canada's learning institutions and publicly-funded research organizations.

  • Varies by project, as this is still a pilot program


Who's Eligible?

  • Short-term projects that contribute to the development of a viable working linkage between the firm and the service provider. There are other considerations, including service provider capacity and available program funding.

Some examples of eligible technical services are:

  • Product optimization
  • Process development, analysis or optimization
  • Specialized testing

Some examples of eligible business services are:

  • Market research
  • Marketing strategy development
  • Competitive analysis
  • Business strategy development

How to Apply?

Ongoing application process that must be co-submitted with a local Industry Technology Advisor.


Can Also Claim SR&ED Tax Credit?

Yes, the company can also claim their portion of the expenses towards a SR&ED-eligible project.
