The Development program supports
production at the development and pre-development stages. This
program is part of the CMF's convergent stream. Thus, projects
funded through this program must include content to be developed
for distribution on at least two platforms, one of which must be
television.
Funding Amounts?
- For the Television Component of the project, funding will cover
75% of the eligible costs for development, up to $200K for all
phases combined and all eligible types of programming.
- For the Digital Media Component of the project, funding will
cover 75% of the eligible costs in development, up to $50K, for all
phases combined.
- For Digital Media Components with eligible costs under $5K, the
eligible costs related to the development of this component must be
combined with the development eligible costs of the Television
Component and be presented in one single application (including
budget).

Can Companies Also Claim SR&ED or
IDMTC?
Yes, you can also claim your company's portion of the expenses
towards a SR&ED or IDMTC-eligible project.
