If we can find a vaccine...
- Vaccines effectively move susceptible individuals directly into the recovered class by generating immunity.
- If we can get a vaccine (which by most estimates seems to be at least 1 year away) we can reduce the rate of infection dramatically. The figure below shows what the model looks like, and the graph illustrates what happens.
