What's Next

What's Next

Our near-term focus is one real Lighthouse deployment - proving the lake-storm story end to end - plus the privacy layer Places need for shared radio channels.

Next milestone: first Lighthouse pilot

We're looking for 1-2 partner communities (lake association, rural municipality, festival site, or similar) to co-design the first field deployment:

  • Solar-powered node at a fixed location
  • Local Wi‑Fi serving a cached copy of Beacon
  • LoRa relay to extend reach across water or terrain
  • Sync back to cloud when uplink returns

This is infrastructure the community owns or hosts - we provide the software and integration playbook.

On the roadmap

Initiative Goal
Lighthouse Web Bridge Same PWA when Supabase and cell are unreachable
Place Beacon pairing Fixed infrastructure radios identified per place
Place-key encryption Web Crypto before alerts hit public LoRa airspace
Feed merge One alert card whether it arrived via cloud or mesh first
Canadian infrastructure Migrate hosting and data to Canadian providers
Field documentation Open playbooks for admins and hardware volunteers

What we're not waiting for

We are not blocking today's product on Lighthouse hardware. Communities can use Beacon now for alerts, Places, and P2P. Safety Net depth grows as partners deploy infrastructure - you don't need a radio to receive value today.

Timeline honesty

We move in phases, not quarters on a billboard. This guide updates as we ship. If you're evaluating Beacon for a community, ask us what's live this month - we'll tell you straight.
