How Much Does it Cost to Run Your Room Air Conditioner Each Year?
Source: US EPA ENERGY STAR Program, 2015.

If all room air conditioners sold in the United States were ENERGY STAR certified, the energy cost savings would grow to more than $600 million each year and 10 billion pounds of annual greenhouse gas emissions would be prevented, equivalent to the emissions from more than 980,000 vehicles.

An ENERGY STAR certified room air conditioner costs about $75 per year to run, on average.
