Phase A: Preparedness

  • Publicly Accessible AED: A weatherproof, temperature-controlled Automated External Defibrillator (AED) enclosure is centrally located and permanently mounted at [TBD]. It is unlocked, highly visible, and explicitly mapped for immediate community access.
  • Centralized Trauma First Aid Kit: Stored alongside the AED at [TBD] is a trauma-level medical kit. This kit is specifically stocked to manage severe outdoor, chainsaw, or heavy machinery injuries, containing windlass tourniquets, combat gauze, chest seals, and stabilization splints.
  • Medical Training Registry: The cottage association maintains an active log of residents with professional or certified medical training (such as CPR, Wilderness First Responders, Nurses, or EMTs). In a mass-casualty or severe weather event, these individuals form our immediate on-lake first-responder tier.
